Over the past several years I have found that I have been guided to not only work with my hands to run healing energy but also to use sound as a conduit for healing myself and others. It all started for me when I began to use a set of tuning forks on the body and could feel the vibration of the sounds move through my body in a gentle healing manner. I then started working with Crystal Singing Bowls, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Chimes, Bells, Frame and Tongue Drums, Angel Harp and most recently a Monocord,

 

Little did I understand the power of sound to resonate perfectly with the Reiki Energy to balance the Body/Mind and Spirit. As I incorporated these instruments and sounds into my sessions and classes I discovered that many people including myself, strongly connected to the sounds and often reported feeling a deep peace and connection to themselves/others and their spirit. As I learned more about "Sound Therapy" I discovered that tone/pitch/vibration and sound strongly resonates deeply in all of us. This is why we are often looking to "tone" ourselves through music, speech, and sound. It starts even before birth where the unborn child connects to the sounds of the mother and her environment. It continues as we sing to our children, they babble to us and themselves, and as we grow we often even talk to ourselves as a calming/toning technique.

 

Since we are made up of 60-70% water the vibration of sound travels through our bodies quickly and can calm us, energize us, excite us or even scare us... our bodies and minds are always reacting to the sounds we hear even on an unconscious level. Many sound healers believe we are always consciously and unconsciously looking for certain tones within the sounds to complete us...

 

You may find you love the earth sounds of the frame drum or my ocean drum to connect you deeply to the earth... or the Tibetan/crystal bowls, chimes or bells which bring you into a sacred space for healing... or my Angel Harp, which can be played near or on your body to connect you to a deep place of surrender and knowing that you are always guided and supported through all circumstances in your life by something greater than yourself...
